Sydney Water - Herb Elliot
This design and construct project involved the conversion of a former data
centre to state of the art office facilities to house the Sydney Water
Emergency Response Control Centre.
Existing tenants remained in certain areas of the building during construction, making the project significanlty more difficult.
This was the second Sydney Water project undertaken by Garner Rose in recent times, and followed the success of the award winning restoration of the national trust listed West Ryde Boilerhouse.
The importance of this project was such that it was been handled personally by Gartner Rose Managing Director, Michael Rose, in the role of Project Manager.
He was ably assisted by one of Gartner Rose's most experienced Site Foreman, Darren Bekavac, who specialises in fitout work.
Gartner Rose appointed How Tan of HBO + EMBT Architects as the lead architect for the project. His innovative thinking and design resulted in significant cost savings for the client and a number of major improvements to the ammenity and look of the building.
The Gartner Rose team has worked closely with the Sydney Water project team of Mick Massey and Gisela La Point to deliver these major changes to the building in very difficult circumstances in an extremely short project time.
The project value was circa $6 million and completed on programme.
