Minto Station Easy Access Upgrade

Gartner Rose has successfully completed the works to modify Minto Station and simultaneously upgrade the station to Easy Access standard appointed by the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC).  

Scope of works included: 
  • Demolition of the existing stairs to enable the existing pedestrian footbridge to be extended over the South Sydney Freight Line. 
  • The construction of new precast stairs to the new span of the footbridge which provides access to and from the pedestrian footbridge and Somerset Street.
  • A new lift was erected to enable easy access to and from the new span of the pedestrian footbridge and Somerset Street. 
  • The new precast stairs to the existing western platform was also constructed to provide access to and from the platform and the pedestrian footbridge. 
  • Another new lift was erected on the western platform to enable easy access to and from the platform and the pedestrian footbridge. 
  • The existing ramp to the western side of the station was also demolished.     
  • On the eastern side of the station, a new lift was erected to enable easy access to and from the footbridge and Minto Road. New in-situ concrete stairs and ramp was constructed also to provide access from the station to Minto Road. 
  • A new kerb line in Somerset Street was built, as well as the construction of a new car park accessed from Wiltshire Street.
