Minto Station Easy Access Upgrade
Gartner Rose has been appointed by the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC)
to modifiy Minto Station and simultaneously upgrade the station to Easy Access
standards.
Due to the construction of the Southern Sydney Freight Line, modifications are required at Minto Station. The rail corridor will be widened (by others) to allow the new non-electrified freight line to be constructed on the western side of the existing tracks.
The works at Minto station involve the demolition of the existing stairs to enable the existing pedestrian footbridge to be extended over the South Sydney Freight Line. The construction of new precast stairs to the new span of the footbridge will provide access to and from the pedestrian footbridge and Somerset Street. A new lift will be erected to enable easy access to and from the new span of the pedestrian footbridge and Somerset Street.
The new precast stairs to the existing western platform will be constructed to provide access to and from the platform and the pedestrian footbridge. A new lift will be erected on the western platform to enable easy access to and from the platform and the pedestrian footbridge. The existing ramp to the western side of the station will be demolished.
On the eastern side of the station, a new lift will be erected to enable easy access to and from the footbridge and Minto Road. New in-situ concrete stairs and ramp will be constructed also to provide access from the station to Minto Road.
A new kerb line in Somerset Street will be built, as well as the construction of a new car park accessed from Wiltshire Street.
