Sefton Station Easy Access Upgrade
Gartner Rose has been appointed by the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC)
to modify Sefton Station and simultaneously upgrade the station to Easy Access
standards.
Due to the construction of the Southern Sydney Freight Line, modifications are required at Sefton Station. The rail corridor will be widened (by others) to allow the new bi directional non-electrified freight line to be constructed on the Southern side of the existing tracks.
General works around the station will be required including the relocation of the bus shelter.
The existing footbridge will be extended southwards to allow access over the new freight line. Three lifts will be constructed to enable easy access to the station.
The extension of the footbridge and new lift on Wellington Road will require the relocation of the existing bus shelter and bus stop to a location further eastwards. Additional parking will be created on Wellington Road. A new footpath will also be constructed as part of the general works.
