We are delighted to advise the safe and successful utilisation of the Sydney Trains track possession over the weekend of the 13th and 14th March at Ourimbah Station.

Over the possession weekend, 139 persons worked a total of 1,283 hours to complete 100% of the work required and the station was ready for commuters by Monday morning.

As part of the key activities achieved during the possession, Gartner Rose undertook the precast lift shaft installations to Lifts One and Two, a total of four units each. Following the precast install, structural steel roof sheeting,  canopies and screens were lifted into position to Lifts One and Two via the 250-tonne crane. At Platform 1, concrete was cut away and resurfaced with asphalt.

Further key activities achieved over the weekend included:

  • Prefabrication of structural steel and roofing for the new waiting room which was then lifted into position on Platform 1
  • Installation of falsework and timber deck to form suspended link slabs on both lift shafts (Lift One and Two) for post possession work, 'Synergy' plastic screens were then installed to one scaffold to provide an electrical barrier from overhead wiring
  • Installation of internal scaffolding to lift shafts
  • Installation of hoarding on Platform 1 to allow for further work post possession

Pedestrians were able to safely utilise the pedestrian bridge which remained open throughout the work due to traffic control management and monitoring nearby danger zones. All work undertaken was completed without any incidents.
