Gartner Rose has safely and successfully completed the modifications at
Casula Station for the construction of the Southern Sydney Freight
The rail corridor was widened (by others) to allow the new
non-electrified freight line to be constructed on the Eastern side
of the existing tracks and the existing footbridge was extended eastwards
to allow access over the new freight line.
The extension of the footbridge also required construction of new stairs
on the east side of the station to provide access to the Powerhouse car
Three lifts were constructed to enable easy access to:
- The Powerhouse car park
- The Casula Rd car park
- The existing eastern platform.
The general works outside Casula station involved a retaining wall
surrounding the existing car park, realignment of Casula Rd, footpaths
and the existing car park.
