St John’s College Stage 1 Project Completion
Gartner Rose are delighted to announce the safe and successful completion of the first stage of refurbishment works for the beautiful 1868 heritage listed St John’s College at the University of Sydney.
Gartner Rose’s scope of works included the upgrading, within exacting heritage standards, of the ablution facilities and kitchenettes throughout the residential college. All works were undertaken in a live environment, with careful planning to minimise the impact on the students living in the College.
St John’s College is perhaps the grandest Gothic Revival College in Australia, designed by one of England’s (and Australia’s) foremost ecclesiastical architects of the mid-nineteenth century, William Wardell, and completed by one of Australia’s best known Colonial architects, Edmund T. Blacket.
These upgrade works were designed by Hector Abrahams Architects and were completed on time, on budget and with zero LTI’s.
Congratulations to everyone for bringing this project to a safe completion and a special thanks to the project team, subcontractors and suppliers.
