Casula Station Upgrade
Gartner Rose was engaged to complete an easy access upgrade to Casula Station as part of the Sydney Southern Freight Line Station Modifications project.
The rail corridor was widened (by others) to allow the new non-electrified freight line to be constructed on the Eastern side of the existing tracks and the existing footbridge was extended eastwards to allow access over the new freight line.
The extension of the footbridge also required construction of new stairs on the east side of the station to provide access to the Powerhouse car park. Three lifts were constructed to enable easy access to the Powerhouse car park, Casula Road car park and the existing eastern platform.
General works outside Casula station involved a retaining wall surrounding the existing car park, realignment of Casula Road, footpaths and the existing car park.
