Warwick Farm Station Upgrade
Gartner Rose was engaged to complete an easy access upgrade to Warwick Farm Station as part of the Sydney Southern Freight Line Station Modifications project.
The rail corridor was widened (by others) to allow the new bi-directional non-electrified freight line to be constructed on the Eastern (down) side of the existing tracks.
Works involved the construction and erection of a new precast pedestrian overpass footbridge, providing access between the eastern and western car parks, over the new SSFL and to both of the existing platforms. New stairs and three new lifts were also constructed.
Further works included:
- Construction of a new awning, located on the existing eastern platform south of the existing waiting room
- Demolition of the existing waiting room on the eastern platform
- Placement of deflection walls near the lift shafts to provide protection for the lifts. Platform barriers were also built on both existing platforms
- Southward extension to the existing eastern car park
- Realignment of the kerbs and footpaths in the eastern car park to allow easy and safe access to the newly constructed lift and stairs
