Gartner Rose receive Heritage Award

Gartner Rose receives heritage award for works undertaken at West Ryde Boilerhouse for Sydney Water.

Gartner Rose today received a “highly commended” award at the NSW Heritage Awards. Presented by the Hon Frank Sartor it was received by Gartner Rose Commercial Director, Daniel Rose, on behalf of the Gartner Rose Project Manager Stephen Williams.

Also in attendance were the Managing Director of Sydney Water and the Sydney Water Heritage Architect who was responsible for monitoring the restoration project.

The comments from the National Trust of Australia were:

“It is commendable to see a public authority investing in the conservation of redundant infrastructure. The sheer scale of the building constituted a major challenge. This conservation work provides opportunity for future adaptive reuse and stabilises the fabric. It is the critical first step in ensuring the survival of the building.”
