Project Award for Clydesdale Estate

We are delighted to advise that Gartner Rose has been appointed by Stockland Development to complete design and construction heritage restoration works within Clydesdale Estate.

Clydesdale Estate has a rich history and has state significance as one of a series of pre 1840’s homesteads in the Hawkesbury region which contributed substantially to the agricultural and pastoral economy of the region, as well as the understanding of the historical development of colonial New South Wales.

Clydesdale House is a heritage-listed homestead, former seminary and missionary school (1859 – 1871) and wartime hospital between (1942 – 1944). The estate was also utilised as an agricultural site between 1963 – 2016 for free-range egg production, cattle grazing and the growth of a variety of crops.

Works will be completed to a number of buildings, including Clydesdale House, the stables and cottage 6. The scope will include, but not be limited to:

• The heritage restoration and sympathetic modifications for adaptive reuse of both Clydesdale House and the Stables building
• Restoration and reconstruction of the conservatory glass structure in a new location
• Complete rebuilding of the Cottage 6 residential building, with a focus on preserving and reusing as much of the original building fabric as possible
