Successful WE35 Possession at Chester Hill Station
We are delighted to advise the safe and successful utilisation of the WE35 possession over the weekend of the 28th of February and the 1st of March for the Chester Hill Station Upgrade, being delivered as part of the NSW Government’s Safe Accessible Transport program.
As part of the WE35 possession, the following scope was undertaken:
- Regraded and resurfaced half of the platform, including installation of the new dura composite product along each platform edge
- Installed a new 45m long comms and LV run to feed the new station light poles at the country end
- Installed a new 65m long major CSR trench for comms, electrical and drainage at the city end
- Installed approximately 45 linear metres of ACO grated drain
- Installed two new pad footings at the bottom of the stairs to complete all structural foundations
- Installed 24m of new structural steel platform canopy and subsequently roofed this canopy to provide additional shelter to the station
- Installed a new 45m³ concrete slab for the new platform extension
- Installed new screens at the high-level entrance
- Installed the new station submain across the track at high level to feed the station
- Installed the IMSB
Over the course of the possession, 2,583 hours were worked across the two day period, with zero incidents or injuries.
A significant amount of plant was utilised to complete the work, including a 100T crane, five Hydremas, two hi-rail excavators, two hi-rail EWP’s, one scissor lift and seven tracked excavators. Across the weekend, approximately 45m³ of concrete, 10T of structural steel, 150T of roadbase and 110T of asphalt were installed to support the works.
