
Project Award for Mortdale Maintenance Facility
We are delighted to advise that Gartner Rose has been appointed by Downer to install a separation wall between the Sydney Trains stabling area and the new Downer Maintenance Facility.
The scope of works are to be undertaken within an operational train stabling and maintenance facility at Mortdale and include the following:
- Demolition and disposal of existing offices and storage racks, including redundant workshop and slabs
- Removal of existing partition wall on the high level maintenance access platform
- Demo, excavate and pour 19 pad footings for the new structural steel installations being 600mm x 600mm x 600mm, including dowels and reinforcement.
- Installation of 18, 6m PFCs spanning between the existing roof rafters with welded connections for new column installations
- Installation of 19, 8m columns including 90, 6m girts to support the new wall to 6m on one side and 2.7m on the other
- Installation of 29, 4m column extensions to the existing maintenance walkway, including 140, 6m girts to support the new wall to 6m on one side and 2.7m on the other
- Installation of furring channels and 2,642m2 of FC sheeting to the separating wall
