Waitara Station Upgrade Project Completion
Gartner Rose is delighted to advise the safe and successful completion of the Waitara Station Upgrade project.
The design and construction works formed part of the Transport Access Program 3 for Transport for NSW, providing access to the station via a new underpass, new lifts and stairs, as well as upgraded station facilities.
Works included, but weren’t limited to:
- New underpass at the country end of Waitara Station
- New lift and stairs connecting the underpass to the commuter carpark off Waitara Avenue
- New lift and stairs connecting the underpass to the platform
- Level access connecting the underpass to Alexandria Parade
- New 65m long platform canopy providing continuous coverage from the new lift and stairs to the existing station building
- Upgraded Station entries ensuring accessible paths of travel, Including a new accessible zebra crossing on Alexandria Parade
- Refurbishment work to the existing toilets to house new FAT and Ambulant Toilet
- Complete station-wide electrical upgrade
- Relocation of major services
- Lighting, security, and other system upgrades
- Wayfinding upgrade
- New upgraded carpark which now operates via a one-way system providing a better, safer and more compliant parking solution
