Mortdale Maintenance Centre Solar PV System (current)
Gartner Rose has been appointed by Sydney Trains to undertake the installation of a solar PV system to the existing roof of Mortdale Maintenance Centre.
The scope of work will include, but not limited to:
- Installation of a 0.88MW solar PV panel system to the roof structure, consisting of nearly 2,000 solar panels
- Installation of additional walkways and static lines to facilitate access to the panels
- Installation of 800m of permanent safety rail to the perimeter of the roof
- Replacement of existing polycarbonate roof sheeting
- Construction of a new Inverter Station
- Design and construction of additional parking area
The power from the solar PV panel system will be fed directly into the Sydney Trains power network, a first of its kind. All works will be completed in a live environment, with the Maintenance Centre remaining accessible and operational, with minimal disruption to staff and visitors, during the construction works.
