During 10 weeks of construction, 1,500 hours were worked to complete balcony awning works, inclusive of soffit lining replacement and fire services upgrade.

Gartner Rose replaced a total of 900m2 of soffit over the Level 4 Balcony and Level 3 Western Awning, including the replacement of the Level 4 balcony sprinkler system and the sprinkler heads on Level 3.

The first stage saw over 500m2 of Colorbond Soffit replaced with Reverse Rolled Surfmist Ultra, enabling Gartner Rose to replace the sprinkler system including new pipework and stainless-steel sprinkler heads.

The increased scope appointed to Gartner Rose saw the replacement of 400m2 of soffit to the Level 3 Awning with new stainless-steel sprinkler heads, lights, cabling and security wiring. New cabling was also installed for the client’s security cameras.

Works were completed in a live environment, during a very difficult period of time, without impacting on the operations of the Port.
