Port Kembla Remediation Works
The project involved the replacement of the existing chain mesh fence with 520m palisade dark green powder coated metal fence. Works included removal of the existing concrete fence along the southern boundary and installing concrete dish drain and fence footing approximately 400mm wide, as well as land remediation to facilitate stormwater flow. 250LM of deteriorated Armco barrier was removed with new Armco barrier reinstated along the road way. Additionally, improvements were also made to the stormwater system.
Significant concrete cancer repairs were undertaken to arrest the deterioration of the concrete structures and to restore the structural integrity of the buildings. All timber doors and windows were replaced, with other works including the installation of lintels above door and window openings, plus rendering of the brick facades of the buildings.
