St John’s College Quadrangle Stage One Project Completion
We are delighted to advise the safe and successful completion of the refurbishment works as part of the student quadrangle upgrade at St John’s College within the University of Sydney. The project marks our sixth project delivered for Hector Abrahams Architects and St John’s College within the heritage-listed Gothic Revival College.
Over the seven weeks of construction, 1,080 hours were worked to complete various new paving and associated works.
The paving works saw a new permeable Hydroston paved outdoor dining area, a new raised sandstone dais and a new sandstone pathway from the student dining hall utilising sandstone with light banding. New tactile, handrails and new lighting were installed to the cloister area.
Planter boxes and their watering systems were also relocated.
The project was completed within a live environment, with the residential college maintaining operation throughout the upgrade.
The student quadrangle complements our previous refurbishments undertaken at St John’s College.
Congratulations to everyone for bringing this project to a safe completion and a special thanks to the project team, subcontractors and suppliers.
