Eveleigh Maintenance Centre Fire Hydrant Upgrades (current)
Gartner Rose has been appointed by Sydney Trains to complete Fire Hydrant Upgrades within Eveleigh Maintenance Centre.
The scope of works includes the supply and installation of a fire hydrant system to provide additional fire hydrant outlets to workshop ground, gantry and upper office levels to achieve compliant coverage, as well as the replacement and upgrading of sections of the existing 100mm fire hydrant pipework with 150mm pipework to maximise performance and compliance. Works will include, but not be limited to:
- New 40m ULX to cross under six railway tracks with a further 90m of inground pipe
- Construct 290m of 100mm and 150mm of high level galvanised pipe along EMC office and EMC workshop
- Install additional hydrants, fire hose reels and isolation valves in shed gantry zones 1, 2 and 3
- Decommission of redundant fire hydrant pump, pipework and associated fittings, supports, etc.
This project follows the successful fire hydrant upgrade Stage 1 undertaken by Gartner Rose in 2018.
