Parliament House NSW Chambers Refurbishment

Gartner Rose was engaged by the Department of Parliamentary Services to undertake critical maintenance works to both NSW Parliament’s Legislative Assembly (LA) Chamber and Legislative Council (LC) Chamber.

The project was completed on-time to enable the opening of the 58th Parliament of NSW.

Spanning both chambers, works consisted of:

• wallpaper conservation and reproduction
• french polishing
• upholstery replacement
• stenciling and metal leaf gilding
• internal plastering, painting and decorating
• heritage joinery alterations to provide accessibility to the LA table

Associated works included:

• substantial lighting upgrades in both LA chambers
• mechanical upgrade in the LC Chamber
• mould remediation
• accessibility upgrades
• integrated and associated mechanical, electrical, data and security works
