
Parsley Bay Caretaker’s Cottage
Gartner Rose was appointed by Sydney Water to complete the fitout of new amenity facilities within the existing Caretaker’s Cottage at Parsley Bay.
The scope of works included, but not limited to:
- Modifications Demolition of the existing lower ground floor slab for subsequent underpinning of existing footings, installation of bored piers, services installation and construction of new floor slab
- Extensive waterproofing works as protection to groundwater and tidal effects
- Replacement of the upper level timber deck with a tiled concrete slab
- Installation of screw piles and shoring to protect 150 year old oviform sewer
- Installation of services including water, gas, sewer, stormwater and power with significant design modifications to avoid unidentified services and improve the performance of the Caretaker’s Cottage
- Fitout of new amenity and change room facilities within the lower ground floor level
- Landscaping and external concrete pavement
Gartner Rose was further engaged mid-project by Woollahra Municipal Council to complete works to the kiosk, including:
- Demolition of the existing paved dining area, replaced with monoplane metal deck frame and composite decking, including associated concrete and civil works
- Pergola restoration and roofing replacement
- Installation and connection of 1,000L commercial grease trap
All works were completed within a live environment, with the perimeter of the site remaining accessible to the general public.
