Strathfield Station Lift Replacement

During 12 weeks of construction, 8,200 hours were worked to complete the lift replacements, in time for the annualRoyal Easter Show in Sydney.

The project saw the dismantle and removal of the existing lifts, installation of the new lifts with modification works to the existing lift shafts to comply and accommodate the replacements. Further works included the supply and installation of the mechanical ventilation system for the upgraded lift shafts, the upgrade of associated electricals and the replacement of a glass panel and the stainless-steel lift doors.

While Strathfield Station is one of the busiest railway stations in Sydney, all deliveries took place at night with careful planning to minimise the disruption to everyday commuters.

Both lifts were opened to the public in mid-April, where officials and the client attended to celebrate the completion of the project.
