Me Mel Goat Island Remediation Demolition (current)

Gartner Rose has been appointed by National Parks and Wildlife Services to undertake remediation demolition works on Me Mel Goat Island, located in the heart of Sydney Harbour.

The works will include the demolition and disposal of the Port Emergency Services Building including its contents (excluding the ground floor slabs), plus the access ramps between the building and upper walkway including gates.

Additional works will include:

  • Relocation of the control board for the sewer package pumping station currently mounted on the side of the building
  • Relocation of the firehose mounted on the southeastern side of the building on a new stand with water supply reconnected to the firehose
  • Installation of new fencing panels to replace the upper walkway gates

Completion of the Me Mel Goat Island project will ultimately conclude in the transfer of Me Mel Goat Island to Aboriginal ownership and management.
